These are a little to thick to wear in hot weather. My son always wears running shorts over these. Purchased size medium.Theses are a good quality smooth pair of compression underwater. You can ware these under swim shorts too.I like the shorts they fit really good, a little bit on the hot side.I'm training for my first marathon, and while I've occasionally used compression shorts like this, I've started to more frequently as I've been running more often and farther. This work great for my mid-range runs where I don't want to carry my phone in my hand but I'm not bring a hydration belt pack along. I simply put my phone in the built-in pocket and key in my shorts pocket, and I'm good to go!They are comfortable as well and seem to be holding up quality-wise. I agree with others that they run a bit small. I am 5' 10", 207 lbs and bought an XL. I usually buy L for other underwear, and Amazon recommended a L as well. These are very good shorts, with a strong elastic waistband. They wash up nicely and are great for working out and they also work very well just as an undergarment, kind of like a Spanx item. They also wick away sweat very well and keep you drier when you start to sweat. Recommended! These shorts are made in Vietnam. The shorts are made with a 87% polyester and 13% spandex mix that offers some stretch. The size chart said I would work best with an XL, but went with a large to be safe. The large size was snug in places and slightly loose in others. I should have went with the medium (from an XL). The shorts are comfortable to wear as lounge shorts and appear to be well made.4 starsWow, compression shorts, athletic underwear and running shorts all rolled into one. Which are they? These aren’t as compressive as most compression shorts I’ve worn and I would say they’re halfway between compression shorts and boxer briefs. You’re not really going to get any benefit from the amount or lack of compression that these provide. It does have a wide waistband. However, I found the band wanted to fold up when putting them on. I will probably use these as underwear. I find they fit as expected but the compression just isn’t there to really give it a solid label of compression shorts. These are inexpensive and if you like supportive, tight underwear, these work. If you are looking for the compression, you won’t find it here.I like this product, but it's just slightly big, even though I ordered the correct size for me according to their chart. Because of this, it isn't quite compressing as much as I'd hoped. Still, they're comfortable and there IS some compression. I'd buy them again, but would probably drop down a size, that's all.I like this product. You might, too, and at about $18 I think they're worth a look.
